Sander Boschker has committed himself to two more seasons with FC Twente.
Impressive record
The 38-year-old, who made his 500th Dutch league appearance for the club in a 4-1 win against NAC Breda on 4 February, has already spent 19 seasons with 'De Tukkers' and would have spent his entire career at Twente had he not joined AFC Ajax for the 2003/04 season, where he did not play a single game for the Amsterdam side.
Marseille tie
"I am happy and relieved that I have reached an agreement with Twente," Boschker said. "I wanted to stay with this club and fortunately it has happened. This gives me peace of mind." Boschker will be 40 when his new contract expires in the summer of 2011, and is likely to stay on after that in a behind-the-scenes role. Steve McClaren's Twente take on Olympique de Marseille in the UEFA Cup Round of 32, with the first leg in France next Thursday.
