Drulic injury setback for Zaragoza

Real Zaragoza's €12.8m record signing Goran Drulic looks likely to miss the start of his club’s UEFA Cup campaign after picking up a serious knee injury in training.

Ligament damage
The Yugoslavian international striker is expected to be out of action for at least two months after he was taken to hospital with a suspected torn ligament in his right knee.

Record deal
Drulic, 24, was the most expensive recruit in the Zaragoza’s history when he joined from UEFA Champions League contenders FK Crvena Zvezda last month.

Cup winners
Zaragoza finished 17th in the Spanish first division last season, only avoiding relegation by a single point. But the Aragonese team ended the campaign on a high with a surprise 3-1 triumph over RC Celta de Vigo in the Spanish Cup final to earn a place in the UEFA Cup first round, starting on 13 September.
