CSÖ-Montage Budapest FC ended their involvement in the first UEFA Futsal Cup on a high with a 6-1 triumph over Clearex-Chorzów.
Pride at stake
The Hungarian victors had already been eliminated as had their Polish opponents but pride was at stake in the final Group B fixture in Lisbon on Thursday. Budapest took control early on through Zsolt Nagy and added a second just before the interval through János Madarász. Victory was sealed by László György Mezöfalvi's forceful finish in the 23rd minute and two soon afterwards from Istvan Javor.
Consolation earled
Miroslaw Miozga scored a direct free-kick to give Chorzów a consolation but their defeat means Budapest, who completed the scoring through Gábor Somogyi, finished the group in third place. Both sides had lost their previous games against Playas de Castellón F.S. and Action 21 Charleroi who will now be involved in the semi-finals on Saturday.
