Futsal Cup mapped out

Holders Playas de Castellón FS were confirmed as Group 6 hosts in the 2002/03 UEFA Futsal Cup.

Inaugural winners
The Spanish side won the inaugural five-a-side tournament in March this year, beating Action 21 Charleroi 5-1 in the final in Lisbon. They will host their three Group 6 rivals in the first phase of this year's edition, played from 4-10 October, which features eight groups - six of four teams and two of three teams

Group hosts
The other first-phase group hosts (in bold below) are: SK Program Dubnica na Váhom (Group 1), FT Kemi Tornio (Group 2), FC Iberia 2000 (Group 3), Prato C/5 (Group 4), Zrinjski Karaka (Group 5), CC Jistebnik (Group 7), KMF Niš (Group 8). The exact fixture dates have not been decided yet.

Later stages
The eight group winners advance to a second group phase comprising two groups of four to be played between 17 and 23 March next year.

Two-legged final
The winners of these two groups will progress to the two-legged final. The first leg will be played between 14 and 20 April, the second between 28 April and 4 May. Meanwhile, the first UEFA Futsal Conference has been set for 26-28 November in Coverciano, Italy.
