Article body
Holders Playas de Castellón booked their place in the second qualifying round of the 2002/03 UEFA Futsal Cup with ease after topping Group 6 with three wins including a 22-1 victory over UE Santa Coloma of Andorra.
Fine start
The Spanish hosts, who lifted the inaugural UEFA Futsal Cup in Lisbon earlier this year, got off to a fine start on Friday with a 7-2 victory against CSÖ Montage Budapest FC. That match had followed the opening game in this mini-tournament which saw Dorozhnik Minsk start in fine style with an 8-0 victory over Santa Coloma.
Pride restored
Saturday's action saw CSÖ restore some pride with a 11-0 victory against Santa Coloma, but the key game came later in the evening when Castellón met Dorozhnik. The former side came out on top with a 7-1 victory that effectively assured their passage.
Warning shot
The group finished on Monday with an entertaining encounter between CSÖ and Dorozhnik that saw the Hungarian team triumph 8-3 against their Belarussian opponents. That was topped though by Castellón's huge victory against Santa Coloma, a result that surely sent a warning to the rest of Europe that the reigning champions are keen to hang on to their title.
