Dutch profit from Dinamo despair

Group 7: ZVV West Stars qualified after MFC Dinamo Moskva fielded an ineligible player.

ZVV West Stars have made it through to the next round of the UEFA Futsal Cup after MFC Dinamo Moskva fielded an ineligible player.

Result reversed
West Stars, of the Netherlands, were beaten 11-2 by Dinamo in the first game of the Group 7 mini-tournament. However, Odair da Silva Junior, who scored twice for Dinamo was not registered in time and should not have played. As such, UEFA changed the result to a 3-0 victory in West Stars' favour.

Home fans stunned
The second match of the round-robin competition, played in Litija, Slovenia, saw the home team KMN Svea Lesna Litija recorded a 6-4 victory against MFC Zhigitter of Kazakhstan. Dmitriy Kuzvesov stunned the home crowd with a goal in the seventh minute but four goals in a row put Litija on their way.

Ivanov hits five
Dinamo showed their strength in their second game with an 11-2 victory against Zhigitter. Star of the show was the impressive Russian international Serguei Ivanov, who hit the net five times while Pavel Kobzar weighed in with a hat-trick.

Lazaar makes sure
West Stars picked up their first win on the pitch in their next outing, seeing off Litija 7-4. The Dutch side were always in control and a second-half treble from Fouad Lazaar made sure of victory.

Two sent off
However West Stars were stunned in their next, and final, game as they went down 3-1 at the hands of Zhigitter. The Kazakh side raced into a two-goal lead inside seven minutes through Yussupov and Kuzvesov. It was a lively contest and each side saw a player shown a red card on the stroke of half-time. Jermaine Dilrosun for West Stars and Olexandr Morgunov of Zhigitter were given their marching orders. Melvin Plet pulled one back for the Dutch side with five minutes to go, but Kuzvesov made sure of victory with a third almost immediately.

West Stars through
Dinamo rounded off the mini-tournament with a 3-2 win against Litija. The Slovenian side had actually taken a 2-1 lead, through Mito Kos, just after half-time but Viatcheslav Moskalenko and Alexei Petrushin ensured the Russian side finished on top. However, despite three wins out of three, the reversal of their first fixture against West Stars meant the Dutch club topped the pile.
