One to watch: Daniel

Daniel Ibanes has plenty of reasons to celebrate as he gears up for yet another major final. The 29-year-old Brazilian-born Spanish international, regarded as one of the finest players on the planet, has just become a father for the second time. Although rumours about where this tricky talent will be playing next season have been circulating, Daniel is focusing only on helping Boomerang Interviú to win the UEFA Futsal Cup final.

World acclaim
The No14 arrived in Spain more than a decade ago at CD Mejorada. His subtle skills, wing wizardry and eye for goal saw him voted the world’s third best player in 2000 and it was no surprise when he joined the mighty Boomerang in 2002. Capped 77 times by his country, Daniel was part of the Spain team that won the 2000 FIFA Futsal World Cup and the 2001 and 2005 UEFA European Futsal Championships. A knee injury cost him a winners' medal in the 2004 World Cup, with fans in Chinese Taipei denied the chance to see one of the world's greats. Thankfully, he is back to his best - as MFK Dinamo Moskva may learn to their cost.
