Gödöllö make fine start

Futsal Club Gödöllö took early control of UEFA Futsal Cup Main round Group 4 by defeating Athina '90 Athens 6-2 while Futsal Topsport Antwerpen were held by KMF Municipium Casino Pljevlja.

Gödöllö had an impressive run to the Elite round last season and the Hungarian mini-tournament hosts are well placed to take one of the two berths in that stage on offer in this group after a comfortable Matchday 1 win against the Greek champions. Antwerpen, European debutants having pipped previously perennial challengers Action 21 Charleroi to last term's Belgian title, trailed 2-1 at half-time against Montenegrin opponents who had progressed from the Preliminary round. However, Municipium conceded an equaliser after the break and the game finished level. On Sunday a Gödöllö victory against Municipium would take them through while Antwerpen face Athina. Five more Main round groups start later this week.
