Jesús Candelas has returned to the helm of UEFA Futsal Cup holders Interviú Madrid after the departure of coach Juan Luis Alonso.
Alonso departure
'Juanlo' succeeded Candelas in summer 2008 and last season led Interviú to an unprecedented third UEFA Futsal Cup title. However, the 33-year-old has departed the club following a 4-4 home draw with Lobelle de Santiago FS at the weekend, with Interviú lying third in Spain, one point behind fellow European contenders ElPozo Murcia FS.
Candelas honours
Candelas, 52, has signed a contract until the end of the season at a club he previously coached for a decade from 1998, winning two UEFA Futsal Cups, five Spanish titles and four unofficial intercontinental tournaments. He returns to the bench on Saturday against Pinto FS and will lead his side in UEFA Futsal Cup Elite round Group C against Slovenia's KMN Puntar, Ukrainian champions FC Time Lviv and Czech hosts FK Era-Pack Chrudim from 19 to 22 November, starting five days after a league trip to Murcia, who are also in European action the same week.
