Eight-team tournament
The qualifying competition for the final tournament, which will be played from 2-13 May 2007, approaches its climax on 23 November when 25 teams will progress from the qualifying round to join three seeds in the Elite round. At this stage the 28 nations will be divided into groups of four, with the seven section winners to join Belgium in the draw for the finals.

World Cup prize
The host cities will be: Tubize/Tubeke, Ronse, Verviers, Visé/Wezet, Eupen and Tournai/Doornik. The top two from each of the two groups in the finals will advance to the semi-finals as well as to the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the Korea Republic. The fifth European entrant for the FIFA tournament will be decided by a play-off between the two third-placed group finishers in Belgium.
