Igor Gorbatenko was the star performer for the Russians at Worksop Town, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 14th, 50th and 79th minutes. Alexander Prudnikov had set Igor Kolyvanov's side on their way in the 12th minute when stroking in a penalty. Semen Fomine scored the other goal on the hour, leaving Russia on top of the pool ahead of the match against Italy on Thursday, when Bulgaria meet mini-tournament hosts England.
