Holders handed Czech challenge

UEFA European Under-17 Championship holders Spain will continue their bid for a third consecutive title against the Czech Republic, Belgium and Kazakhstan after the Elite round draw was held in Nyon on Thursday.

UEFA European Under-17 Championship holders Spain will continue their bid for a third consecutive title against the Czech Republic, Belgium and Kazakhstan after today's Elite round draw in Nyon.

Seven groups
Spain are in Group 2, one of seven one-venue mini-tournaments to be completed by the end of March. The winning teams from each section joins hosts Germany in the final tournament between 6 and 18 May. France, runners-up behind Spain last season, will take on Denmark, Norway and Belarus in Group 4, while the side beaten in the 2007 final, England, are up against Group 7 rivals Portugal, Serbia and Hungary.
