France booked their place in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship final tournament as a goalless draw with Hungary in La Rochelle confirmed them as Elite round Group 5 winners.
Unbeaten French
François Blaquart's side needed a point from the game to progress after wins against Norway (2-0) and Finland (3-1) earlier in the week, and the stalemate was enough to ensure they reached the final tournament for the first time since winning the competition on home soil in 2004. Hungary, who needed to win after slipping to a 1-0 defeat by Norway on Wednesday, were unable to break down a stubborn French defence and fail to repeat last year's success, when they reached the finals in Luxembourg. France go into the draw in Brussels on Wednesday to see who they will face in Belgium from 2 to 13 May.
