It's incredible [to be in the semi-finals], I must say. Of course we are very happy with the final result. After the opening loss to Turkey it was not easy but we kept faith just as we did in the Elite round, we were in the same situation and we knew what we had to do today, we had to win to be sure that we had a chance, depending on the result of Serbia-Turkey. We are happy with that result and that Turkey did their job. I must say it was not our best match. I think we deserved to win, it's clear, we missed a lot of chances but we kept Scotland in the game, not because they played well but because we gave them the ball too much. We had to keep the ball, especially in the second half. The two goals we scored were very good, our players worked very hard in the heat, but at the end we are of course very happy with the result.
Ross Mathie, Scotland manager
First of all we'd like to congratulate the Netherlands staff and players, and on the day they deserved to win the match, we have no complaints about this at all. Secondly, it has been a wonderful journey, as I said to our players, since we started with the Under-15s. I'm delighted to be here, we would rather be here than not be here at all. We've thoroughly enjoyed the experience and congrats the Turkish FA for their magnificent facilities, in training, in the matches and in the hotel. We're disappointed to lose three matches but we had one good performance [against Turkey] and that's the performance we should take away from the finals.
SERBIA 0-0 NETHERLANDS
Dejan Djurdjević, Serbia coach
For us the tournament has finished, that's football. You sometimes win, sometimes lose. Our players did their best and I am really satisfied with their efforts. We played very well against very, very strong opponents, we managed 13 shots. We played more positively, but it's the fact that we couldn't qualify, we were not lucky against the Netherlands. I want to congratulate the Turkish Under-17 national team. Today, I am proud to see the future of Serbian football. They proved that they could play for our senior national team.
Şenol Ustaömer, Turkey coach
The only chance of elimination was a six-goal defeat. That's why I gave a rest to some of my players. I am not going to bring on Batuhan [Karadeniz] but there were two injuries which forces us to make a substitution at the beginning of second half. We played against a hard team, they created some chances but our goalkeeper Metin Uçar kept a good clean sheet. I want to congratulate all my players who deserved to reach the semi-finals. Now we want to do our best to make our people happy.
