Hungary and Slovakia won through from UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifying round Group 11 ahead of Luxembourg and Albania.

Luxembourg close
While Slovakia ensured their Elite round berth with a game to spare after beating Luxembourg and Albania, the Grand Duchy held hosts Hungary on Matchday 2 to keep the group alive. However, in the last set of game Hungary beat Slovakia 1-0 to finish top with Luxembourg, who defeated Albania 3-2 in dramatic circumstances, third and maintaining hopes of progress.

Slovakia through
It did not start so well for Luxembourg, beaten 2-0 by Slovakia with goals from Ivan Stulajter and Alan Kovac. Hungary overcame Albania 5-0 with an early Mate Szolga strike, a Bence Serfözö hat-trick and a Jurgen Mumajesi own goal. Two days later Hungary were held 1-1 by Luxembourg after Benjamin Magyar's early goal was quickly cancelled out by Andrea Deidda, while Slovakia made sure they would return to action in the spring with a 3-0 defeat of Albania, Viktor Miklos, Dominik Jacko and substitute Ivan Schranz scoring.

Hungary top
However, Hungary were to top the group thanks to Patrik Vass's last-minute winner against Slovakia on Wednesday. Had Hungary lost, they could have finished below Luxembourg on goal difference, but that did not look likely when Fabio Hoxha and Benkert Abdija put Albania 2-0 up. That was the scoreline with eight minutes left but substitute Nimon Muslji pulled one back, Yannick Bastos equalised and Andrea Moro won the game for Luxembourg in added time. They are now in pole position to progress as one of the two third-placed teams in the 13 groups with the best record against the leading pair, though only three section have been completed, with Belarus the first side to fall out of the reckoning.
