Germany strikers Lennart Thy and Kevin Scheidhauer were the top scorers in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship group stage, in which 23 different players shared 25 goals.
Double goalscorers
Scheidhauer struck in Germany's opening 3-1 win against Turkey and again in the 4-0 victory against England that clinched a semi-final slot with a match to spare. Thy was only a substitute against Turkey having just recovered from injury but started versus England and contributed a goal alongside Scheidhauer before opening the scoring in the 2-0 defeat of the Netherlands that secured first place in Group B.
Muhammet mark
Five other Germany players contributed to their tally of nine group-stage strikes, while also going into the semi-finals with a goal to their name are three from the hosts' last-four opponents Italy, four from Switzerland and a trio of Netherlands squad members. Among the six scorers who will no longer take part is Muhammet Demir of Turkey, whose tournament tally for the whole season of seven is now the outright best. His total is one clear of Michał Jończyk from non-finalists Poland and two ahead of the nearest contender still able to catch Muhammet , the Netherlands' Shabir Isoufi, who is yet to add to his five qualifying goals in Germany.
