Superb Switzerland ensure qualification

Switzerland strolled into the UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals as Nassim Ben Khalifa claimed a hat-trick in a comprehensive win against Slovenia.

Dany Ryser's Switzerland side trailed Elite round Group 1 hosts Greece on goal difference at kick-off and were only a point ahead of Poland while Slovenia knew they were eliminated. Haris Seferovic ensured he scored in all three of Switzerland's games in this mini-tournament with a strike on 16 minutes and not long after the break Renato Santabarbara added a second. Ben Khalifa then claimed three goals in the space of 14 minutes and Kofi Nimeley converted a late penalty, as news came through that Poland had beaten Greece 2-1 and Switzerland were in Friday's finals draw in Leipzig, for a competition running from 6-18 May.
