U17 hosts to play holders, France face Germany

UEFA European U17 Championship hosts Slovenia have been matched with holders the Netherlands in the finals draw while the other group contains France and Germany.

UEFA European Under-17 Championship hosts Slovenia have been matched with holders the Netherlands in the final tournament draw in Ljubljana, made by UEFA Youth and Amateur Football Committee chairman Jim Boyce, former Slovenian internationals and tournament ambassadors Sašo Udovič and Marko Simeunović, and UEFA head of national team competitions Lance Kelly.

Slovenia, making their finals debut and staging their first ever UEFA tournament, and the Netherlands will meet on the opening day of the competition, 4 May, with Poland and Belgium joining them in Group B. Former champions France and Germany are up against Iceland and Georgia in Group A, with the full schedule to be announced next week.

The group stage games will be played on 4, 7 and 10 May in Ljubljana, Domzale, Maribor and Lendava, with the top two teams from each section progressing to the semi-finals three days later. Those matches and the final on 16 May will be held at the ŠRC Stožice stadium in Ljubljana.
