Ukraine claimed first place in the section having defeated mini-tournament hosts Slovenia 4-1 in their second game, and booked their berth in the final tournament in Switzerland with a 1-1 draw against England in Celje today. Slovenia finished in second place with four points, level with England and three points ahead of Denmark.
Playing for pride
Having lost both of their previous group games, the Danes had nothing to play for except pride, and coach Per Andersen will take heart in the fact that Slovenia were unable to breach his team's stubborn defence as the two sides played out a goalless draw.
