Belgium close in on qualification

Norway 0-1 Belgium Group 7 hosts Belgium need a point on Sunday to qualify after another narrow win.

Belgium are only one point away from qualifying for the UEFA European Under-19 Championship finals after a narrow 1-0 win against Norway.

Legear winner
Norway had been defeated 4-0 by Serbia and Montenegro in their opening second qualifying round match on Wednesday, when Group 7 hosts Belgium had beaten the Republic of Ireland 1-0. RSC Anderlecht's Jonathan Legear ensured a repeat of that scoreline with his goal just after the hour mark today.

Draw required
A point against Serbia and Montenegro on Sunday would secure Belgium's place in the Swiss-hosted finals, while a defeat would ensure their elimination on head-to-head record. Norway are out, but will hope to end on a high against the Republic of Ireland.
