Five goalscorers
Having won all three of their qualifying round games, Sweden kept up their form after taking a 27th-minute lead through Mattias Bjärsmyr and Patrick Amoah made it 2-0 on 39 minutes. Marcus Berg struck four minutes into the second half and Ola Toivonen's 54th-minute penalty and Fredrik Pettersson's goal two minutes later further increased Moldova's misery.
Vital encounter
Group hosts England, who overcame Denmark 1-0 today, are Sweden's next opponents in what could be a decisive encounter in Bury on Monday evening. The same night in Morecambe, Moldova - who reached this round as the best third-placed team in the last stage - play the Danes.
