Turkey put six past Georgia

Georgia 0-6 Turkey Five different men were on target as Turkey opened their Elite round Group 2 campaign in overwhelming fashion.

Turkey were in blistering form in their opening UEFA European Under-19 Championship Elite round Group 2 match in Slovakia, putting six past Georgia without reply.

Decisive result
Ilhan Parlak took only three minutes to open the scoring and Caner Erkan, part of the victorious U17 team last year in Italy, doubled the lead before half-hour. Serdar Özkan made it 3-0 on 62 minutes and soon after Arda Turan added to the tally. Gürhan Gürsoy and Ilhan completed the victory late on.

Irish encounter
On Sunday Turkey will hope to keep up their form when they meet the Republic of Ireland, who lost 3-2 to Slovakia today. The group hosts are the next opponents for Klaus Toppmöller's Georgian team.
