Norway recovered from a goal down to defeat mini-tournament hosts France and begin UEFA European Under-19 Championship Elite round Group 5 in perfect fashion.
Quick-fire goals
Winners in 2005, Jean Gallice's France made the perfect start in Bayeux, forging ahead through Frédéric Bulot's half-volley after ten minutes. However, the Scandinavians composed themselves and struck twice in quick succession just past the half-hour to turn the match on its head, Kjetil Lundebakken equalising after 31 minutes before Simen Wangberg put Øyvind Nilsen's side ahead four minutes later. France piled on the pressure in the second half but were unable to find a way through and face the other Matchday 1 losers Latvia in their next fixture on Wednesday, when Norway meet Romania.
