Draw not enough for unbeaten Norway

Norway missed the chance to go to the UEFA European Under-19 Championship final tournament in Ukraine after being held to a goalless draw by Latvia in Bayeux.

Romania began the final day as Elite round Group 5 leaders on goal difference from Norway but their 3-0 reverse to hosts France meant that victory would send Norway to the finals. Try as they might, the Scandinavian side could not find a way past a Latvia team that had failed to take a point from their first two games, conceding six times in the process. As a result, unbeaten Norway only finished second with France, the side they had beaten 2-1 in the section opener, taking the spot in the finals.
