Spain continued their excellent start to the UEFA European Under-19 Championship Elite round with a 3-0 win over Estonia in Tallinn.
Comfortable win
The hosts had suffered a painful 5-0 loss to Germany in their previous Group 7 outing while Spain defeated the Czech Republic 5-1, but around 7,000 spectators still came out to spur the home side on at the A Le Coq Arena. Despite the best efforts of the crowd, though, Daniel Aquino headed Spain ahead after 12 minutes and Henri Anier spurned a good chance to level soon afterwards when his shot lacked venom. That was about as close as Estonia came too, FC Barcelona's Thiago Alcántara making it 2-0 from close range on 31 minutes and Carlos Monje giving Spain their third goal from inside the box in the 62nd minute.
Full concentration
"I can't say that it was an easy match, but it's obvious that our opponents have to progress a lot if they want to beat us," Spain coach Luis Milla said. "I really liked the fact that my players were fully concentrated during the match." His counterpart Frank Bernhardt added: "Spain are not as strong as Germany and I didn't think that we would be beaten heavily. The players made the same mistakes as in the first match. They aren't going forward as they're afraid to leave spaces in defence. I can understand that as Spain are a very fast team."
