Group 3 hosts Portugal defeated Greece 1-0 in their second UEFA European Under-19 Championship Elite round match at the Estádio Municipal do Cartaxo to stay top of the section.
Early winner
Arsenal FC striker Rui Fonte opened the scoring – his second goal of the mini-tournament – in the fourth minute with Ilídio Vale's team defending the advantage until full time. Greece, who lost their opening match against Turkey and now have no chance of progression, ended proceedings with ten men after Leonidas Argyropoulos's 64th-minute dismissal. Following their 3-0 win in the opening game against Denmark, Portugal are level with Turkey but need just a point in their final match against those opponents to qualify for the finals in Ukraine.
