The eighth and final berth in July's UEFA European Under-19 Championship will be claimed by either Switzerland or Belgium tonight as the Elite round comes to a conclusion.

Successful Spain
Slovenia defeated Belarus 2-0 last night to win Group 2 on goal difference from the Netherlands and book their place in the finals, which will be hosted by Ukraine from 21 July. The other five teams to have topped Elite round groups are Serbia (Group 1), Turkey (Group 3), 2005 winners France (Group 5), England (Group 6) and Spain (Group 7). The Spanish are the most successful side in the history of the competition, having triumphed in 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2007.

Goal difference
Both Switzerland and mini-tournament hosts Belgium have maximum points in Group 4 ahead of their decider at the Mijnstadion in Beringen this evening after beating Sweden and the Republic of Ireland. Switzerland have a goal difference of plus seven, one better than the Red Devils, and thus need just a draw to progress.
