Switzerland coach Claude Ryf has named his 18-man squad for the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Ukraine.
Staggered arrivals
Ryf decided on his selection at the training camp in Dübendorf but, despite being able to call on all his key players, he was not satisfied with their latest preparations and warned they face a major challenge to emerge from their section. Switzerland face England in their Group A opener on 21 July before meetings with Slovenia and Ukraine. "The preparation for this tournament was not optimal due to the start of the Super League," he told uefa.com. "We only had 15 or 16 players here in our camp and four key players will come tomorrow or on Monday. It's a very tough group. Our first goal is to beat England in our first match. We play versus hosts Ukraine as well so it will be difficult to reach the next round."
