There was little faulting Andreas Heraf's side in qualifying. A member of the SK Rapid Wien side that contested the 1995/96 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final, Heraf went to the 1998 FIFA World Cup with Austria. In his coaching incarnation he led the U19s to the 2010 finals, his team managing to earn a ticket to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia.
