The Netherlands booked their passage to the UEFA European Under-19 Championship finals in Greece with a resounding win against Switzerland on the last day of elite round Group 4.

The Dutch mini-tournament hosts went into matchday three level on points with Norway and one ahead of Serbia, and there were no slip-ups from Aron Winter's side as an Abdelhak Nouri brace was supplemented by goals from Pelle van Amersfoort and Jairo Riedewald to secure a 4-0 win over the Swiss. Serbia's 4-2 victory against Norway – from being two down – ended Norwegian hopes and earned second place for the 2013 U19 champions.

Van Amersfoot's solitary strike against the Serbians had got the Netherlands off to a positive start last Thursday, when their 1-0 triumph was matched by the Norwegians who opened with a success against Switzerland courtesy of Bjørn Utvik's effort.

A double from Ivan Šaponjić in a 3-1 win against the Alpine nation then boosted Serbia's chances on matchday two, and they were left just a point short of the leading two teams when the pacesetters played out a 1-1 draw in Saturday's headline fixture. Dutchman Riechedly Bazoer scored in the 80th minute to cancel out Morten Konradsen's breakthrough for Norway. A draw would not have been enough for the Netherlands on today's final day of action given Serbia beat the Norwegians, but there were no dramas thank to the hosts' unanswered four-goal salvo.
