Part of the France side that lifted the UEFA European Under-19 Championship trophy on home soil in 2010, Antoine Griezmann – now fresh from a remarkable first season at Club Atlético de Madrid – shared his memories with UEFA.com and offered some advice for his U19 successors.

It was a lot of joy, you want to score a goal in order to celebrate it. So there was a lot of joy. And on top of that it was in France. Everyone was happy, the whole stadium was cheering.

It was a real pride, and we wanted to give everything for the people who came to support us. We gave everything. I was injured at half-time, but I believed in my team-mates and we won in the end.

Griezmann on ... how the tournament helped his career
It's always great. You say to yourself: 'OK, you are in the U19s now, and you must try to get close to the first team, and you need to work hard at your club in order to be in the French national team.' It's a dream really.

Griezmann on ... his advice for France's 2014/15 team
Enjoy playing, open your eyes during the competition, learn everything and give everything. Give everything for your country.
