Poland to host 2017 Under-21 EUROs

Poland have been appointed to stage the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, the competition's first final tournament to contain an expanded 12 teams.

Poland will stage the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship after they were selected as final tournament hosts by the UEFA Executive Committee at its meeting in Nyon, Switzerland.

The 2017 finals will contain 12 teams, up from the eight that have competed at every edition since 2000 and that will do so again this June in the Czech Republic. The qualifying group stage draw takes place at 09.00CET on 5 February and the finalists that will travel to Poland will be determined by 15 November 2016.

The Polish Football Federation (PZPN) co-hosted UEFA EURO 2012 with Ukraine – matches were played in Gdansk, Poznan, Warsaw and Wroclaw – while in 2006 it organised the finals of the UEFA European U19 Championship.
