WOMEN'S EURO play-off draw on Monday

The UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™ play-off draw will take place at UEFA's headquarters, the House of European Football in Nyon, on Monday 6 October at 12.00CET, with ten teams dreaming of finals places.

Play-off matches
The six group runners-up and four best third-placed teams from the qualifying competition will enter the draw to determine the play-off matches. So far Italy, Iceland, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Scotland, Slovenia, the Republic of Ireland and the Czech Republic are through to the play-offs with the other two slots to be filled on Thursday night. The seedings will be confirmed on Friday. The play-off matches will be played under the home-and-away system on 25/26 and 29/30 October, and the five winners of those ties will join hosts Finland and the six qualifying stage group winners in the final tournament, which takes place from 23 August to 10 September next year.

Helsinki for hosts
Finland will play three group matches at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, which will host one additional group-match and the final on 10 September 2009. The Helsinki Football Stadium, Tampere Stadium, Turku Stadium and Lahti Stadium are the other venues which have been chosen to host UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™ final tournament matches. A detailed match schedule for the final tournament will be announced after the final-round draw, which will take place at the Finlandia Hall in Helsinki on 18 November. Alongside the hosts, holders Germany, Sweden, Denmark and France have already qualified with two more group winners to be confirmed on Thursday night.
