Netherlands midfielder Lianne de Vries and forward Shanice van de Sanden will not travel with the rest of the squad to Finland for UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™ on Tuesday because of illness.

Stomach bug
Though the FC Utrecht pair have not been ruled out of the tournament, it has been decided to keep them separate from the other players and staff due to the risk of infection. A stomach bug has been bothering the squad since Thursday's 1-0 loss in Russia, although midfielder Marlous Pieëte and forward Chantal de Ridder, who were also affected, have both been recovering and will make the journey to Finland.

Time to recover
"Luckily almost everyone is feeling better now and the danger of infection has almost disappeared," coach Vera Pauw said. "Our first match against Ukraine is on Sunday so that means there is plenty of time to fully recover and become totally match fit."
