With unlimited transfers before the UEFA Women's EURO 2025 quarter-finals and the option of selecting up to five players from one country, the Scout leans heavily on Spain for the Matchday 4 squad on #WEUROfantasy, presented by AXA.
Goalkeepers
Sweden's Jennifer Falk is the top-scoring goalkeeper after three matchdays thanks to 17 points, but next faces an England side that have scored ten goals in their last two matches. With that in mind, Falk's opposite number Hannah Hampton is selected having managed a clean sheet against Netherlands in the group stage.
Spain also kept one clean sheet in their first three fixtures, against Portugal on Matchday 1. That gave Adriana Nanclares six points, and the goalkeeper will look to add to her overall total of nine against hosts Switzerland.
Defenders
Sweden and England are on opposite sides in the second quarter-final, but both are represented among the five defenders after strong group performances. Sweden's Nathalie Björn is the top scorer in her position remaining on Fantasy, her 20 points including seven from ball recoveries – a reliable source of returns for defenders. Alex Greenwood of England also has seven Fantasy points via the same route, and has scored 14 of her 16 points overall in the last two matches.
Irene Paredes has 14 points in total, five via ball recoveries, and also scored in Spain's Matchday 2 win against Belgium. Sakina Karchaoui was also on target in the group stage, in France's Matchday 3 defeat of Netherlands, and is one of three defenders in more than 50% of teams, while Tuva Hansen is a more differential pick, the Norway defender in less than 10% of Fantasy squads ahead of the quarter-final with Italy despite scoring six points from ball recoveries.
Midfielders
Four of the five top scorers in the group stage were midfielders, Alexia Putellas leading the way with 43 Fantasy points thanks mainly to three goals, four assists and two Player of the Match awards. The Spain midfielder is in more than three-quarters of Fantasy squads, while team-mate Patri Guijarro is selected by only 8% as it stands, despite 25 points in her first three appearances – including 14 on Matchday 3.
Ella Toone is on 21 points after three games, scoring in England's last two matches and also adding two assists, while Grace Geyoro scored for France against Wales in the second round of fixtures. Frida Maanum has 15 points overall but 12 from her most recent appearance, twice finding the net against Iceland, ahead of Norway's meeting with Italy in the first quarter-final.
Forwards
Among the five top Fantasy scorers overall, Delphine Cascarino of France is the sole forward among midfielders, her 26 points coming from only two appearances – eight against England on Matchday 1 and 18 on Matchday 3 against Netherlands, when she scored twice, provided an assist and was named Player of the Match.
Alessia Russo and Esther González both collected 21 points in the group stage. The England forward opened her scoring account against Wales in the last fixture and also has three assists; she is in more than 60% of Fantasy squads. González found the net in all three of Spain's group games, four goals in total, and has scored five or more Fantasy points in every appearance prior to the tie against Switzerland.
