There is an added incentive for the nations participating in the forthcoming UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship, with places in the inaugural FIFA Women's Under-19 World Cup on offer to the semi-finalists.
Two groups of four
The eight sides who have reached the European tournament, which runs from 2-12 May in Sweden, have been divided into two groups of four. The four sides in each group will play each other once with the top two advancing to the semi-finals - and the World Cup.
Draw on 13 May
The FIFA event will take place from 17 August to 1 September 2002 in three Canadian cities - Edmonton, Vancouver and Victoria. The draw for the 12-team tournament will take place in Zürich on 13 May - a day after the final of the European Championship in Helsingborg.
