Article body
Finnish hosts
Finnish international Anne Mäkinen and the chair of UEFA's Women's Football Committee, Karen Espelund, conducted the proceedings at the Main Post Building in the Finnish capital. The Finns will face Germany, still smarting from their premature exit on home soil last summer, Spain and Switzerland, one of two best runners-up, in Group A.
Best runners-up
Group B looks equally powerful, with Bruno Bini's superb French side again likely to be the team to beat. They defeated Norway 2-0 in last year's showpiece in Leipzig thanks to goals from Amélie Coquet and Lilas Traïkia and will hope to still be in the reckoning on 8 August. Italy and Russia, another side to advance as a runner-up, complete the section.
Summer event
The final tournament will take place in Loviisa, Kauniainen, Hämeenlinna and Hyvinkää. Group matches will be played between 28 July and 2 August, with the semi-finals taking place on 5 August and the final three days later in Vantaa.
