Germany suffer Kuznik KO

Germany will be without the influential Peggy Kuznik for the UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship.

Glory trail
The midfielder was approaching the championship with confidence high after her club side, 1. FFC Potsdam, won the UEFA Women's Cup last season. Kuznik previously helped Germany to FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship glory in Thailand last November and played every game as the Germans reached the final of this competition in 2004, surprisingly losing 2-1 to Spain.

Veeh called in
Kuznik's place in Maren Meinert's 18-player party goes to TSV Crailsheim defender Carolin Veeh. Germany's campaign starts tomorrow against the hosts in Buk.
