I told my players I didn't know what to say because I was so proud. They deserve to be there and if you score one, you can score four - the result does not tell the story of the game but in the second half we deserved to win and it is a good feeling. We have always had good second halves here so I told the players to believe we could do it, three goals in ten minutes is a dream come true for a coach. Honestly I didn't expect [the substitutes] to score in five minutes - but the substitution was tactical. I had the feeling that we needed some space at the back so we tried to get a fast player in the defence as [prolific Russia striker Elena] Danilova is so good at running with the ball. And the other change was because I thought we needed a defensive midfielder that can play - and can score! So we are lucky today that the two substitutes scored. Ann-Christian is very dangerous because she is good on the ball and can change the game, and you need a player like that on the bench if you are in a tournament, you don't need just eleven players, you need substitutes. I am glad both Kerschowskis scored, because otherwise there is trouble! Right now I am happy to reach the final - tomorrow I will think about the final.
Valentin Grishin, Russia coach
I think the oppressive heat had its effect on the players and they were not able to recover after the first half. Physically Germany were much stronger. Germany were cautious in the first half, and it was clear that they were a little bit afraid of Russia. But in the second half they started pressing and they showed the best of their game. Four leading players from last year's tournament didn't play this year, the goalkeepers and three midfielders. I think the performance will be quite different in the World Cup - because we will have the four players back the team will be much stronger.
