Luca Balduzzi will attempt to lead Switzerland to their fourth successive UEFA European Women’s Under-19 Championship finals after taking over from Claudio Taddei.

New role
Balduzzi has worked for the Swiss Football Association (SFV/ASF) since 1988 in a range of different positions including as futsal co-ordinator, and will be in charge when Switzerland meet second qualifying round Group 6 hosts Italy, Spain and Serbia from 10-15 April for a place in Iceland.

Taddei feats
Taddei took the U19 reins from senior coach Béatrice von Siebenthal after the 2003/04 finals and immediate led Switzerland to the 2004/05 event- finishing fifth to qualify for the 2006 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. He was also in charge on home soil for the European event last July, and again as they moved past the first qualifying round this autumn with defeats of Turkey and Hungary and a 2-2 draw with Portugal. Taddei will continue to work for the SFV/ASF at their women’s football training centre in Huttwil.
