I feel relieved. I knew it would be a tough game because I saw Spain in their first game and was very impressed. They work hard and they're very organised. I'm really proud of the girls because they fought hard and in the end they got the goals and the result. They were extremely keen to get revenge from the Italy game when we conceded in the last minute. We tried to make a strong start by pressuring them high up the pitch and we created some good chances. It was still 0-0 at half-time but I told them to keep on playing the same way, using the space behind the Spanish defence and testing them from set-plays.
The girls did a very good job tactically and I'm really looking forward to playing France. We'll be playing in front of many fans on Sunday in a decisive match. For the girls it's the ultimate challenge. That's what is so interesting. We won't think too much about the 4-0 win we had against them at La Manga, although it's good to know that we can beat them. It's a really fantastic challenge.
Ignacio Quereda, Spain coach
We made a slight improvement from the first game, although I was hoping for an even better performance. They didn't really play the way I wanted them to. In the last ten minutes we played well, kept the ball and passed it about well. When we play like that we're very strong, capable of unsettling our opponents. But for most of the game we had difficulty holding on to the ball. The midfield wasn't able to retain possession and our distribution out of defence was sometimes a little bit too slow. But it was a close game. Apart from the set-pieces, which we had difficulty defending, I thought the teams were of a similar level. We know Norway are a powerful side but we were confident of posing them problems with our technical players. Unfortunately we didn't manage to impose our style.
