Ravanelli makes Perugia return

The former Italian international striker Fabrizio Ravanelli has signed for struggling AC Perugia.

Six-month contract
"Ravanelli has signed a six-month contract," Perugia spokesman Paolo Meattelli confirmed to uefa.com. The 35-year-old had been without a club since his previous team, Dundee FC, went into administration in November.

Eligible for Europe
Ironically, the Scottish Premier League side lost against Perugia in the UEFA Cup first round but Ravanelli was not eligible for that tie as he had been registered after the 1 September deadline. This means he will be eligible to play against Perugia's third-round opponents PSV Eindhoven.

Fourth from bottom
Perugia are desperate for inspiration from somewhere. They sit fourth from bottom of Serie A having failed to win a single league game this term. Hence the move for a player who started his career at the club in 1986, scoring 41 goals in 90 league appearances over three seasons.

Career record
He went on to play for Juventus FC, where he won the 1996 UEFA Champions League, and then Olympique de Marseille, S.S. Lazio, Middlesbrough FC and Derby County FC.
