GOALKEEPERS

Two of the eight goalkeepers in action on Matchday 13 earned clean sheets, David Raya (€5.6m) recording Tuesday's sole shut-out in a memorable 3-0 Arsenal win against Real Madrid. The Spaniard made three saves on the way to his sixth clean sheet in this season's Champions League, ending the game with seven points.

The following day Wojciech Szczęsny (€4.0m) matched Raya's score with three saves as Barcelona defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-0. Having started Barcelona's last three Champions League games, Szczęsny has registered two clean sheets, 12 saves and 17 points.

The second highest-owned Fantasy goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois (€5.7m), ended Matchday 13 with two points, a score matched by another premium asset, Gianluigi Donnarumma (€5.8m). Inter's Yann Sommer (€5.5m) remains the top-scoring goalkeeper after six saves and four points in a 2-1 win at Bayern München.

Highlights: Paris 3-1 Aston Villa

DEFENDERS

Plenty of Fantasy managers own both Paris full-backs Achraf Hakimi (€5.7m) and Nuno Mendes (€5.8m) on Matchday 13, the attacking capabilities of both players a factor. While Hakimi managed three points, Mendes recorded the highest score of any defender as he set up Paris' first goal before scoring himself late on to finish on 13 points, meaning he has now picked up a double-figure score in three of the last four matchdays.

Despite his side not keeping a clean sheet, Inter centre-back Alessandro Bastoni (€5.4m) was the only defender to be named Player of the Match in the first legs as he picked up his second six-point score since the start of the round of 16. Both Pau Cubarsí (€4.4m) and William Saliba (€5.5m) recorded nine points for Barcelona and Arsenal respectively, the former providing an assist plus a clean sheet while Saliba managed 11 ball recoveries.

The top-scoring Arsenal defender on Matchday 13, however, was Myles Lewis-Skelly (€4.0m), who set up the Gunners' third goal against Madrid. That, combined with a clean sheet and five ball recoveries, meant the teenager ended with ten Fantasy points.

Highlights: Arsenal 3-0 Real Madrid

MIDFIELDERS

Six midfielders registered double-figure returns, the most notable Arsenal's Declan Rice (€6.0m) after his two free-kick goals. He was duly named Player of the Match, taking his overall score to 18 points, the most of any player on Matchday 13. The third Arsenal goal against Real Madrid also came from a midfielder, Mikel Merino (€7.0m) making it two goals, an assist and 21 Fantasy points since the start of Matchday 11.

Lamine Yamal (€7.3m) also found the net on Matchday 13, the 17-year-old currently owned by exactly half of Fantasy managers. However, the highest-scoring Barcelona midfielder was Raphinha (€7.8m), whose remarkable Champions League campaign continued with a goal, two assists and 14 points against Dortmund. No player in any position has more points than the Brazilian's 119 in 11 appearances, and his 19 attacking returns in this season's competition has equalled Lionel Messi's club record set in 2011/12.

Highlights: Barcelona 4-0 B. Dortmund

FORWARDS

Just four forwards found the net on Matchday 13, compared to six midfielders, but Robert Lewandowski (€9.6m) proved why he remains one of the most valuable Fantasy performers with two goals, the Player of the Match award and 14 points, taking his individual total in the 2024/25 Champions League to 11 goals.

Lautaro Martínez (€9.4m) opened the scoring for Inter at Bayern with his seventh Champions League goal of the season, making it six in his last four outings. The Argentinian averages ten Fantasy points from those four appearances and with a 2-1 aggregate lead for Inter, should prove increasingly popular with Fantasy managers.

Strike partner Marcus Thuram (€7.4m) equalled Martínez's five-point score with an assist, though both were surpassed by Paris' 19-year-old Désiré Doué (€4.8m), whose goal from outside the box against Aston Villa helped him to a third eight-point return of the season.
