Form guide

Barcelona

Record vs English clubs W7 D2 L6 F24 A16
Home record vs English clubs W3 D1 L3

Barcelona have already faced English opposition this season, beginning their group stage with a 0-2 defeat at Manchester City before defeating the same opponents 3-0 at home on Matchday 6 – only their second victory against an English team in Spain.

The Catalan club had previously won 4-1 against Arsenal in the 2021/22 group stage. They also defeated City 3-0 in the 2021 quarter-final first leg – their home match staged in Monza, Italy – in a tie they went on to win 4-2 on aggregate.

Barcelona were winless in their first four games against English opponents but have been victorious in six of the last nine.

Salma Paralluelo scored three times across the two quarter-final matches with Wolfsburg. Clàudia Pina's double in the second leg took her to seven in this season's competition, more than any other player ahead of the semi-finals.

Barça's only group stage defeat this season was that 0-2 reverse at Manchester City on Matchday 1. They won their subsequent five games, beating Hammarby (9-0 h, 3-0 a), and St. Pölten (7-0 h, 4-1 a) before the return defeat of City.

Barcelona are in their eighth semi-final. They have won five of their previous seven ties, including four in a row since losing 0-1 in a one-off match against Wolfsburg in San Sebastián in 2019/20.

They retained the trophy by defeating eight-time winners Lyon 2-0 in last season's final in Bilbao, goals from Bonmatí (63) and Putellas (90+5) sealing the Spanish side's third title, all in the last four seasons.

It was Barça's second in succession after beating Wolfsburg 3-2 in the 2023 final in Eindhoven in which Patri Guijarro (48, 50) and Rolfö (70) found the net as they rallied from two goals down at the break.

Barcelona have reached the final in five of the past six seasons, losing to Lyon in 2019 (1-4) and 2022 (1-3) in addition to their three triumphs.

Barcelona also won three domestic trophies in 2024. In January they lifted the Supercopa de España Femenina before claiming a record-extending ninth Liga F title in a dominant league campaign consisting of 29 wins, one draw and no defeats. They clinched their tenth Copa de la Reina – also a record – with an 8-0 final victory against Real Sociedad.

They meet Atlético de Madrid in the Copa de la Reina final on 8 June.

Barça have scored 25 goals in winning all four home games in the competition this season, conceding one.

In charge since 2021, Giráldez departed as head coach after last season's Champions League triumph; he was succeeded by assistant Pere Romeu.

They most recently beat Real Madrid both home (3-2) and away (2-1) during this season's group stage, when they won all six games.

First-half goals from Sandy Baltimore (14), Nathalie Björn (38) and Mayra Ramírez (43) earned Sonia Bompastor's side a 3-0 triumph against Manchester City in the quarter-final second leg at Stamford Bridge on 27 March, completing a fine turnaround after a 0-2 defeat in Manchester eight days earlier.

The Blues scored 19 goals in their six Group B wins this season. Aside from the two victories against Real Madrid, they also beat Twente (3-1 a, 6-1 h) and Celtic (2-1 a, 3-0 h). They had 12 different scorers.

Ramírez's goal against City took her to three for the European campaign, level with team-mate Catarina Macario.

The first-leg defeat at Manchester City on 19 March ended Chelsea's unbeaten run away from home in all competitions this season; their away record is now W10 D2 L1. Prior to that loss, they had scored seven goals in their three Champions League away victories.
