GOALKEEPERS

One of three positions in which the outright highest Fantasy scorer on Matchday 14 was eliminated from the competition, Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois (€5.7m) picked up seven points after saving Bukayo Saka's penalty in the holders' second-leg defeat at home to Arsenal.

It was a low-scoring matchday for the four goalkeepers playing for teams who progressed. Wojciech Szczęsny (€4.1m) made the most saves with eight but also conceded a penalty in Barcelona's defeat at Dortmund, that deduction of one point leaving him with two overall.

That score was matched by Gianluigi Donnarumma (€5.8m), who also conceded three goals at Aston Villa but made five saves as Paris Saint-Germain held on to win 5-4 on aggregate. Both David Raya (€5.6m) and Yann Sommer (€5.5m) also picked up two points as Arsenal and Inter made it through to the semi-finals.

Highlights: Aston Villa 3-2 Paris

DEFENDERS

Paris full-backs Achraf Hakimi (€5.7m) and Nuno Mendes (€5.9m) again delivered for their large Fantasy ownerships, both scoring goals and earning eight points. Hakimi and Mendes have now accumulated 96 and 91 points respectively over the course of the season, although neither was the top-scoring defender on Matchday 14, Ezri Konsa (€4.9m) registering nine points despite Aston Villa's exit.

Inter's Benjamin Pavard (€5.0m) also accumulated eight points having been on the scoresheet, heading Inter's second goal against Bayern München in a 2-2 draw in Milan.

Of the remaining defenders whose side survived the quarter-finals, only Marquinhos (€5.6m) managed more than three Fantasy points. The Paris centre-back's final total of four came largely from his nine ball recoveries, the most of any defender who made it through to the last four.

MIDFIELDERS

Owners of Arsenal's Mikel Merino (€7.0m) were well rewarded over the course of the quarter-finals. The Spaniard followed his goal and eight points on Matchday 13 with ten points in the second leg after providing the assist for both of Arsenal's goals in Madrid. No midfielder picked up more points on Matchday 14 than Merino, although club-mate Declan Rice (€6.2m) was named Player of the Match for a second consecutive game and also made nine ball recoveries on his way to eight points.

Aston Villa's John McGinn (€6.6m) matched Merino's ten-point total while Ousmane Dembélé (€8.6m) continued his strong form with his second Player of the Match award in Europe this season. The French international acquired his tenth attacking return with an assist at Villa Park and now has 39 points in the knockout stage.

Although it was a quiet evening Fantasy-wise for the higher-owned midfielders Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, Barcelona team-mate Fermín López (€6.5m) managed an assist and six points against Dortmund having gained seven points in the first leg.

FORWARDS

Again the top total on Fantasy belonged to an eliminated player, Dortmund's Serhou Guirassy (€8.2m) scoring a hat-trick and being named Player of the Match to finish on 17 points. Although it was not enough to extend the German side's campaign, Guirassy finished with 13 goals, four assists and 103 points in his debut Champions League season.

Lautaro Martínez (€9.4m) maintained his sparkling form in front of goal, scoring in consecutive legs as Inter booked their place in the last four. The Argentinian's goal on Matchday 14 meant that he became the first Nerazzurri player to score in five Champions League appearances in a row.

No other forward featuring for a club which qualified for the semi-finals produced an attacking return on Matchday 14, although the eliminated Harry Kane (€11.0m) did find the net, the Bayern striker finishing on 11 goals.
