Article body
'An ethical decision'
Gellei said: "This is an ethical decision to leave one month before the end of my contract. The [FIFA] World Cup qualifying draw will take place on 5 December and it would be wrong for me to be present when I will not be in charge for the first game. I am, however, fully prepared to help in the search for my successor."
EGM to be held
The MLSZ board will make a decision on Gellei's replacement at an extraordinary general meeting, the date of which has yet to be announced. Hungary finished fourth in UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying Group 4.
