2018-21 UEFA club competition licensing rights sales

UEFA has the pleasure to announce that it is inviting proposals for the licensing category of Shaving Product inclusive of Razors, Replacement Razor Blades, Trimmers, Shaving Gel and Shaving Foam (but excluding Eau de Toilette and Aftershave Lotions) for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) for seasons 2019/20 and 2020/21.

Proposals are invited from suitably qualified suppliers, ideally with experience working with sports organisations, in relation to creating UCL branded products for the above mentioned category.

UEFA has appointed TEAM Marketing AG (TEAM) as its exclusive marketing agency for the exploitation of certain media and commercial rights relating to UEFA’s club competitions. TEAM will be the point of contact for all interested parties in relation to all requests for further information, questions and submissions.

In order to receive further information about the available licensing rights, interested parties must either send an email to licensing@team.ch or contact Daniel Hammond, Senior Licensing and Promotions Manager at TEAM (+41 41 368 1751) no later than Friday, 16 November 2018.

UEFA officially launches tender process for UEFA EURO 2020™ Official Hospitality Sales Agents

UEFA is looking for hospitality sales agents to market the UEFA EURO 2020™ Official Hospitality Packages in territories outside of England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

UEFA EURO 2020™ will be held in twelve (12) host cities across Europe in June and July 2020.

Out of the fifty-one (51) matches during UEFA EURO 2020™, seven (7), including the two semi-finals and the final, will be hosted at Wembley Stadium in London. The 11 other host cities will each stage four (4) matches (three group matches and one round of 16 or quarter-final). The opening match will be hosted in Rome.

UEFA is looking to provide corporations, businesses and individuals with a high quality and attractive hospitality offering at UEFA EURO 2020™ matches and wishes to select one or several company(ies) with whom to market and sell the UEFA EURO 2020™ Official Hospitality Packages in specific countries – outside of England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The selected company(ies) will be responsible for marketing the UEFA EURO 2020™ Official Hospitality Packages on an exclusive or non-exclusive basis in its country/countries (Territory).

For such purposes, UEFA intends to organise a tendering process (“Tender”).

To apply, interested companies can complete appendix 1 of the Intention to Express Interest document (ITEI) and send it to hospitalityRFP@uefa.ch together with the requested information and documentation mentioned in point 4 of the ITEI.

2018-2022 UEFA National Team Competitions – sponsorship rights opportunities for companies

UEFA has announced that it is giving interested parties the opportunity to become commercial partners of UEFA’s National Team Football Programme 2019-2022, including UEFA EURO 2020, in the following categories:

• Video game consoles & IT hardware
• Real estate

The worldwide sales of all UEFA National Team Football competitions during the period 2018-2022 is being carried out exclusively by CAA11 on UEFA’s behalf.

UEFA is looking for proposals from suitably qualified e-sports tournament organisers to create, develop and operate an official e-sports tournament in relation to UEFA EURO 2020™ (E-Sports Tournament). It is currently envisaged that such an E-Sports Tournament would encompass several online qualification events and one physical event.

The selected organiser (if any) would be responsible for all aspects of the E-Sports Tournament including (but not limited to) defining the tournament format and rules, running the online qualification tournaments, organising the physical event and managing all on-site operations, providing a live feed for broadcast of the tournament, and capturing and analysing data. The relevant advertising, marketing, promotion and operation of the E-Sports Tournament will be subject to UEFA’s approval and guidelines.

The Process

Phase 1 – Expression of Interest

Prospective organisers wishing to participate in the process should notify UEFA by email and provide the following information:
• Full corporate name
• Address, telephone number and email address of contact person
• Details of similar contracts held or similar events previously organised

The e-mail should be send to both peter.dennis@uefa.ch and thomas.cox@uefa.ch by no later than 12 noon (CET) on 21 September 2018.

Phase 2 – Request for Proposals Process

UEFA will select appropriate organisers to participate in a request for proposals (RFP) process on the basis of UEFA’s understanding of the relevant entities’ experience in delivering similar projects.
The RFP document will outline the UEFA requirements and provide further details of the information required to be included in any proposals.

The Timetable
The proposed timings set out below are subject to change at any time, as deemed necessary by UEFA.
• Expression of interest deadline - 12 noon (CET) 21 September 2018
• RFP document issued - 24 September 2018
• Submission of proposal deadline - 12 noon (CET) 10 October 2018
• Presentation session in Nyon for shortlisted bidders – Week of 15 October 2018

The prestigious publication will tell the epic story of the UEFA Champions League and the defining moments that make the competition so special to its readers. 

The rich heritage of the UEFA Champions League will be presented in a large format to showcase the passion, excitement and iconic moments from the world’s greatest club tournament like never before.

More details will follow about this exciting publication, which is planned to be available for fans in 2019, accompanied by a number of marketing initiatives to support the launch.

It is envisaged that such experiential initiatives and fan hubs could include (without limitation) the following concepts, which can be delivered individually or as a combination of the different elements:

• Food and beverage outlets (e.g. cafes or restaurants)
• Match viewing events
• Interactive centres
• Entertainment centres
• Theme parks.

The respective rights will apply for the 2018 – 2021 cycle.

The UEFA club competitions are:
• UEFA Champions League
• UEFA Europa League.
