2018-2022 UEFA National Team Competitions – sponsorship rights opportunities for companies

UEFA has announced that it is giving interested parties the opportunity to become commercial partners of UEFA’s National Team Football Programme 2019-2022, including UEFA EURO 2020, in the following categories:

• Human resource & recruitment services
• Video game consoles & IT hardware
• Real estate

The worldwide sales of all UEFA National Team Football competitions during the period 2018-2022 is being carried out exclusively by CAA11 on UEFA’s behalf.

UEFA is looking for proposals from suitably qualified e-sports tournament organisers to create, develop and operate an official e-sports tournament in relation to UEFA EURO 2020™ (E-Sports Tournament). It is currently envisaged that such an E-Sports Tournament would encompass several online qualification events and one physical event.

The selected organiser (if any) would be responsible for all aspects of the E-Sports Tournament including (but not limited to) defining the tournament format and rules, running the online qualification tournaments, organising the physical event and managing all on-site operations, providing a live feed for broadcast of the tournament, and capturing and analysing data. The relevant advertising, marketing, promotion and operation of the E-Sports Tournament will be subject to UEFA’s approval and guidelines.

The Process

Phase 1 – Expression of Interest

Prospective organisers wishing to participate in the process should notify UEFA by email and provide the following information:
• Full corporate name
• Address, telephone number and email address of contact person
• Details of similar contracts held or similar events previously organised

The e-mail should be send to both peter.dennis@uefa.ch and thomas.cox@uefa.ch by no later than 12 noon (CET) on 21 September 2018.

Phase 2 – Request for Proposals Process

UEFA will select appropriate organisers to participate in a request for proposals (RFP) process on the basis of UEFA’s understanding of the relevant entities’ experience in delivering similar projects.
The RFP document will outline the UEFA requirements and provide further details of the information required to be included in any proposals.

The Timetable
The proposed timings set out below are subject to change at any time, as deemed necessary by UEFA.
• Expression of interest deadline - 12 noon (CET) 21 September 2018
• RFP document issued - 24 September 2018
• Submission of proposal deadline - 12 noon (CET) 10 October 2018
• Presentation session in Nyon for shortlisted bidders – Week of 15 October 2018

UEFA and Opus developing limited edition 'UEFA Champions League Opus'

The prestigious publication will tell the epic story of the UEFA Champions League and the defining moments that make the competition so special to its readers. 

The rich heritage of the UEFA Champions League will be presented in a large format to showcase the passion, excitement and iconic moments from the world’s greatest club tournament like never before.

More details will follow about this exciting publication, which is planned to be available for fans in 2019, accompanied by a number of marketing initiatives to support the launch.

2018-21 UEFA club competition licensing rights sales

UEFA has the pleasure to announce that it is inviting proposals from suitably qualified suppliers, ideally with experience working with sports properties, in relation to the creation of UEFA club competition branded experiential initiatives and fan hubs around the world.

It is envisaged that such experiential initiatives and fan hubs could include (without limitation) the following concepts, which can be delivered individually or as a combination of the different elements:

• Food and beverage outlets (e.g. cafes or restaurants)
• Match viewing events
• Interactive centres
• Entertainment centres
• Theme parks.

The respective rights will apply for the 2018 – 2021 cycle.

The UEFA club competitions are:
• UEFA Champions League
• UEFA Europa League.

UEFA has appointed TEAM Marketing AG (TEAM) as its exclusive marketing agency for the exploitation of certain media and commercial rights relating to UEFA’s club competitions. TEAM will be the point of contact for all suppliers in relation to all requests for further information and in relation to any subsequent selection process or contractual negotiations.

In order to receive further information about the available licensing rights, interested parties must either send an email to licensing@team.ch, or contact Daniel Hammond, Head of Licensing and Promotions at TEAM (+41 41 368 1751) by no later than 20th July.

Prospective suppliers are requested to include the following initial information in their e-mail:
- Company name; and
- Details of any similar licences held.

UEFA has the pleasure to announce that it is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified suppliers, ideally with experience working with sports properties, who are interested in creating products for UEFA’s club competitions, in relation to the branded ’lifestyle socks’ product category.

The respective rights will apply for the 2018–2021 cycle in relation to the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

In order to receive further information about the individual packages of licensing rights available, interested parties must either send an email to licensing@team.ch, or contact Daniel Hammond, Head of Licensing and Promotions at TEAM Marketing AG (+41 41 368 1751), in each case by no later than Friday, 15 June 2018.

Prospective suppliers are requested to include the following initial information in their e-mail:

Invitation to Express Interest – Hospitality online catalogue

UEFA EURO 2020™ will be held in twelve (12) host cities across Europe in June and July 2020. UEFA, together with any of its subsidiaries, wishes to select a company to develop, deploy and integrate a brand new web based public online catalogue of its premium hospitality packages The main purpose of this web platform will be to retain visitors, drive them to select products and convert them into clients. For such purposes, UEFA intends to issue a request for proposal (“RFP”).

The Selection Process

The process for the selection of a company to act as UEFA’s supplier for the creation of this online catalogue of hospitality packages for UEFA EURO 2020™, as currently planned, is divided into two-phases:

• Phase 1 - Invitation to Express Interest: the initial, pre-RFP phase during which UEFA collects information regarding the candidate(s) based on which it evaluates eligibility of such candidate(s) to participate in Phase 2;
• Phase 2 - The RFP: the RFP process for the selected candidate(s) and/or any other entities invited by UEFA, during which UEFA will evaluate proposals and subsequently select and appoint a qualified company to provide the required services for UEFA EURO 2020™.

All participants in the RFP will receive the RFP document, together with the UEFA requirements, which will set forth all applicable terms and conditions for the RFP.  To give each candidate(s) an overview of the timing and further proceedings, UEFA has put into place the following RFP process plan (which may be subject to change at any time, as deemed necessary by UEFA):

• Publication of this invitation to express interest – 23.04.2018
• Candidates express interest – 30.04.2018
• Selected agencies receive the RFP documents – 07.05.2018
• Selected agencies submit their offers – 28.05.2018
• Selection of shortlisted companies – 04.06.2018
• Presentation session in Nyon with shortlisted companies – Week of June 11, 2018
• Final supplier selection – Week of July 10, 2018

Submissions of Expression of Interest

In order to be considered eligible to participate in the RFP, interested candidate(s) shall respond to this ITEI by submitting the relevant information and documentation as set out below.

Candidate(s) shall submit to UEFA an official letter, on headed notepaper and in English (the “Letter”) expressing their interest in participating in the RFP process and requesting the RFP document, no later than on 30 April 2018. The Letter shall include the following supporting information:

• Full details of the return address and contact person for all matters in connection with this ITEI;
• All of the information/documents (in English) required in Section 4 below entitled "Required information and documentation"; and
• The "Statement of Undertaking" in the form provided in Appendix 1 below, duly signed by an authorised representative.

The Letter with all supporting information and documentation must be sent by email to the following addresses by no later than 18.00 CEST on 30 April 2018: hospitalityrfp@uefa.ch

Incomplete submissions which do not include all of the above information and/or documentation will be rejected by UEFA. Upon receipt of the Letter with all required supporting information and documentation, UEFA shall determine, at its sole discretion, if it requires further information/documentation or clarification from any or all of the candidate(s).

In such cases, UEFA reserves the right to contact the relevant candidate accordingly and to request that they provide such additional information/documentation.

UEFA, at its sole discretion, will decide which candidate(s) are qualified to participate in the RFP process and such qualified candidate(s) will receive the RFP document. Unsuccessful candidate(s) will be informed accordingly and UEFA shall not be obliged to give any reason for its selection or rejection.
