Debbie Hewitt was appointed English Football Association (FA) chair in January 2022, and became chair of UEFA EURO 2028 in March 2025.

Her passion for football began in childhood, following her amateur referee father to matches. She is committed to good governance, transparency, and collaboration to drive sustainable growth and safeguard the future of the game.

Hewitt's background is in business, first in retail management and then as a group managing director in the automotive industry. She currently serves as non-executive chair of Visa Europe and the price comparison website Comparethemarket.com, and is a member of the UK Soft Power Council, which advises government on foreign policy. She also holds an MBA (distinction) from Bath University, an honorary doctorate in Business Administration from Nottingham Trent University, an Honorary Fellowship from London Business School, and was awarded an MBE in 2011 for services to business and the public sector.
