Moldova player Violeta Mițul has died at the age of just 26 following a tragic accident.

Moldovan football is in mourning following the passing of national team player Violeta Mițul.
The 26-year-old defender was involved in a tragic accident while on a mountain hike with club-mates. She won 40 caps for Moldova and was one of the country's leading players.
Mițul had been playing for Einherji in Iceland since the spring having previously played club football in Spain and Italy. She won the Moldovan and Romanian Cups with Alga Tiraspol and Vasas Femina respectively earlier in her career.
