CEDB decision affecting the attendance of supporters to UEFA matches

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has taken the following decision which would affect the attendance of supporters to UEFA matches:

Matches: UEFA Nations League 2023. Croatia vs. Spain (0:0), 18.06.2023 & Netherlands vs. Croatia (2:4), 14.06.2023

- To combine the disciplinary cases and issue one comprehensive decision in accordance with Article 41(6) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.

- To order the Croatian Football Federation to play its next (1) UEFA competition match as host association behind closed doors (which is subject to a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the present decision), to ban the Croatian Football Federation from selling tickets to away supporters for its next (1) UEFA competition match, and to fine the Croatian Football Federation €70,000, for the discriminatory behaviour of its supporters.

- To fine the Croatian Football Federation €45,000 for lighting of fireworks.

- To fine the Croatian Football Federation €35,000 for throwing of objects.

Decisions taken by the CEDB on its meeting of 25 July 2023

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has taken the following decisions:

Match: European Under-21 Championship 2023. Romania vs. Ukraine (0:1), 24.06.2023

- To warn the Romanian Football Federation (RFF) for the improper conduct of its Under-21 team.

- To fine the RFF €5,000 for transmitting provocative messages of an offensive and of a political nature.

- To fine the RFF €5,000 for crowd disturbances.

- To fine the RFF €1,000 for lighting of fireworks.

- To fine the RFF €10,000 and to order a partial stadium closure of the RFF during the next one (1) UEFA competition match in which the RFF Under-21 will play as the host association, for the racist behaviour of its supporters. The RFF shall communicate to UEFA, prior to the match, the sector(s) to be closed, which shall at least comprehend 50% of the stadium’s seats. Said partial stadium closure is suspended during a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the present decision.

Match: UEFA Europa Conference League 2022/2023. AZ Alkmaar vs. West Ham United FC (0:1), 18.05.2023

- To fine AZ Alkmaar €7,125 for throwing of objects.

- To fine AZ Alkmaar €15,000 for lighting of fireworks.

- To fine AZ Alkmaar €8,000 for blocking of public passageways.

- To fine AZ Alkmaar €50,000 and to order AZ Alkmaar to play its next (1) UEFA competition match as host club behind closed doors, for crowd disturbances and its failure to ensure that spectators cannot move from one sector to another. Said match behind closed doors is suspended for a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the present decision.
